What You’ll Learn
The Mental Master Model

How Results Are Created

You’ll learn the full Mental Master framework and how it shows up in rodeo performance. We’ll break down the formula you can use every day:

Thoughts + Belief × Action = Results You don’t rise to your potential — you fall to your programming.
The Four R’s

The Reset Process

This clinic teaches the exact correction process athletes need when they miss, doubt, or feel off. This is how you build control — and how you stop repeating the same mental mistakes all season.

Positive vs. Negative Thinking

Why It Matters

  • The positive side: constructive focus, clear direction, steady execution
  • The negative side: fear, doubt, overthinking, self-sabotage, inconsistency
  • How to stop trying to be positive and start running a system
Visualization + Affirmations

Tools That Actually Work

You’ll learn how to use visualization and affirmations in a way that actually changes performance:

  • How to build the right mental picture
  • How to attach belief and emotion so it sticks
  • How to use affirmations as programming, not performance
  • What to do when your mind fights you
Growth

The Athlete You’re Becoming

This clinic is about building an athlete who can grow:

  • Discipline over emotion
  • Responsibility over excuses
  • Confidence over concern
  • Consistency over intensity

The Voice Behind the Work

Gwen Tenney

Gwen is a mental game coach, keynote speaker, and curriculum developer with a master’s degree in education and 20+ years of teaching experience. She holds certifications from FranklinCovey, John Maxwell, and Proctor Gallagher, and delivers 100+ workshops and coaching sessions annually.

She grew up in Wyoming, shaped by rodeo, 4-H, and a grandfather who taught her that horsemanship and character run on the same track. That foundation lives in every keynote she delivers.

The Arena Perspective

Lyman Tenney

Lyman is an active, lifelong competitor in team roping and a co-founder of Tenney Training. He brings the mental game from inside the arena — not from a theory, but from decades of competing, correcting, and executing under pressure at every level.

Together, Gwen and Lyman coach as one voice. Their keynotes carry both the framework and the proof of concept — what the mental game looks like when it’s actually applied in the dirt.
